Hello, this is Stephen,
I'm a independent singer/songwriter and I live in northern Idaho.
I grew up on a small farm in central Utah, in a family that loved to play music. My father played the banjo and guitar and loved playing bluegrass and old country like Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Eddie Arnold ect.. I started playing the guitar when I was 6 years old. The first cord I ever play was on my dads old 1950 Gibson ES 125 eclectic. That guitar was passed down to me after my father passed away.
I started writing songs a few years after my dad died in 2002. The first song I ever wrote was Daddy"s Arms in 2010 in memory of my dad and the fond memories I have from growing up on our small farm. The song My Dad's Old Guitar is about that old Gibson and all the joy we had playing and singing together. I really loved my dad and miss him to this day.
The inspiration for the album Dreaming of Cheyenne comes from a young and very gifted horse trainer by the name of Sofia from Misty River Ranch and her wild mustang mare Dreaming of Cheyenne. That song is the story of their journey together. I would also like to give special thanks to Sofia's Grandma Karen and their horses Cowboy and Misty.
I 've always felt that every song is a story waiting to be told. I also feel that every song a person writes is a reflection of who that person really is.... what he or she is all about.
I've started to work on a new album. But in the mean time I hope you wil enjoy Dreaming of Cheyenne.
